Celebrating incredible Islington groups – Islington’s Community Chest Event

Our vision for Islington is of an equal borough where everyone can enjoy a life free from poverty and access the many opportunities on offer in their local area.

Celebrating incredible Islington groups – Islington’s Community Chest Event

The Islington Community Chest event brought together 230 people to celebrate the incredible impact of small, grassroots community groups at the Islington Assembly Hall on Thursday 6th July.

The event was about celebrating the incredible efforts of local groups working to positively impact our local community and borough. It was also about building a sense of community and providing local groups with networking opportunities. We believe that by connecting these passionate individuals and groups, we can create an even stronger and more supportive borough for everyone.

In attendance were 60 performers (including Everyone’s Music Jam, Arco – Music for All, and Amberliegh), 43 organisations (of which 40 are funded by Community Chest), and 16 groups with display stands.

Thank you to all our partners including Islington Council, Islington Mayor Cllr Gary Heather, Councillor Una O’Halloran, our governors and staff, Patrick Jones, our vibrant performers, and of course, the brilliant local groups that came out!
