Working together to tackle inequality in Islington
For over 500 years, we've been here for our community - funding ideas, projects and organisations that make life fairer in Islington.
Islington Council’s Community Chest (ICCC) is a small, flexible and relational grants funding programme for Islington’s voluntary and community sector. The funding is provided through a partnership between Islington Council and Cripplegate Foundation which administers the fund. The next deadline for applications is Monday 21 September 2026.
We’re proud to join a group of leading UK charitable foundations to launch the Endowments Investing Challenge. With an investment mandate worth tens of millions, this initiative calls on the investment industry to design a bold portfolio that puts the needs of young people and future generations first.
As a place-based funder, our grants and programmes are available to Islington groups and residents. Read more about our funding programmes including Islington Council’s Community Chest.

Financial difficulties can happen to anyone. If you’re finding it hard to pay for essentials like food, energy or other household costs, the Crisis and Resilience Fund may be able to help. The fund supports Islington residents experiencing financial hardship with emergency assistance and longer-term support to improve financial stability.
