Jesse Ashman sits on the Diversity Equity & Inclusion Working Group, Finance & General Purposes Committee, as well as the Islington Council Community Chest Panel.
He has a deep connection to the local area, recently started as the Partnerships Manager and Recovery Worker at the locally based Outside Project and STAR Refuge. The Outside Project is the first LGBTIQA+ identity-responsive homeless shelter, community centre and refuge. In his role as Projects Manager, Jesse manages relationships with grassroots organisations and corporate partners, as well as working directly with refuge guests. Prior to that, Jesse held various roles at Stonewall including Client Account Manager working on their Diversity Champions programme, advising multinational companies on LGBT inclusion, and as a Youth Work Volunteer at Gendered Intelligence. Jesse brings a deep understanding of equality and diversity which he has gained through both personal and professional experience.
