Islington Council’s Community Chest (ICCC) announces a change in its funding schedule for the upcoming year. In the 2024/25 period, there will be two rounds of funding available instead of the usual three. This alteration aims to streamline the process and ensure timely support for community projects in Islington.

Groups and organisations involved in voluntary and community work within Islington are encouraged to take note of these revised deadlines:

• Tuesday 7 May 2024
• Monday 7 October 2024

As such, there will not be a funding round or deadline in January 2025. Groups intending to apply for funding should plan accordingly and utilise the available opportunities in October 2024.

Please also note that groups that applied for funding in the January 2024 funding round can now reapply in the October 2024 round this year rather than wait the full 12 months.

About Islington Council’s Community Chest

ICCC is a small, flexible and relational grants funding programme for Islington’s voluntary and community sector. The funding is provided through a partnership between Islington Council and Cripplegate Foundation which administers the fund.

The ICCC funding rounds are open to initiatives that address various community needs, including supporting residents experiencing poverty and isolation, enhancing community involvement, and improving local environments. Projects eligible for funding should have an annual turnover of less than £100,000, with priority given to those with turnovers below £50,000.

Applications for Islington Council’s Community Chest undergo careful consideration by a panel composed of Islington Councillors, Cripplegate Foundation Governors, and members of the Islington Community Network.
