Mairi joined the Foundation’s Board of Governors in December 2025. She sits on the Islington Giving Grants Committee and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. Mairi has worked on tackling social justice and inequity at home and abroad for her entire career. She has held several leadership positions in the humanitarian sector including ActionAid UK, Womankind Worldwide, the Asia Development Bank and was previously a trustee at Solace Women’s Aid.

Mairi is a resident in Islington. She is currently the Executive Director of communications, policy and campaigns at the national housing and homelessness charity Shelter and is passionate about ensuring lived experience is at the heart of decision-making.
