Cripplegate Foundation and Islington Giving are seeking a new Chief Executive to shape the next chapter of our work – helping to transform lives across Islington and the Cripplegate ward in the City of London.

About you

  • Are you passionate about addressing issues around poverty and inequality?
  • Do you have the experience and skills needed to lead this innovative place-based funder?
  • Do you thrive on working collaboratively and collegiately with partners, teams and boards?
  • Are you a creative thinker, able to bring about innovation and change?
  • Are you able to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and organisations?

If so, then you might be the right person to lead Cripplegate Foundation and Islington Giving.

You may already be a Chief Executive or a senior leader ready to step into your first CEO role. What matters most is your ability to lead with vision, integrity and collaboration.

A summary of the role

  • Directing the work of the Foundation and Islington Giving
  • Developing and maintaining the Foundation’s present and future partnerships
  • Devising and implementing strategies and policies enabling the Foundation to meet its overall charitable objects and fulfill the Foundation’s vision for the future
  • Working with the Board of Islington Giving to develop and support its work identifying new opportunities and bringing new partners into the coalition
  • Managing the senior team and overseeing their remits and responsibilities
  • Being the accountable officer for the Foundation’s resources and contracts and for ensuring financial probity and stability
  • Championing equality, equity, diversity and inclusion

  • Initial interviews (online): 7–14 April
  • Conversations with some Governors: 20–27 April
  • Panel Interview (in person): 1 May
  • Final interview (if required): 7 May
  • Decision made & successful candidate notified: Mid-May
