Victoria Benson has been appointed as the next Chief Executive of Cripplegate Foundation and Islington Giving.
She brings extensive experience and a deep commitment to reducing inequality, making sure people affected by poverty are heard and working alongside communities to shape lasting solutions.
Victoria was Chief Executive of Gingerbread, the national charity for single-parent families, from 2019 until the end of 2024.
During this time, Victoria led efforts to strengthen frontline services while ensuring that voices and experiences of single parents were at the heart of everything the organisation did.
Before that, Victoria spent over a decade at Macmillan Cancer Support, where she was Director of Legal and Governance. She began her career as a solicitor and brings with her wide-ranging leadership, governance and charity sector experience.
Victoria also brings a strong connection to Islington. As a local resident with deep personal roots in the borough, she has experience of working alongside community organisations and partners across North London.
Her appointment follows a search for a new Chief Executive to lead Cripplegate Foundation and Islington Giving into the next chapter – building on a long history of working alongside local people and organisations to create a fairer Islington.
Victoria will join Cripplegate Foundation in September. Our current CEO Sarah Benioff will remain in post throughout August, and Victoria and Sarah are working closely together to ensure a smooth transition.
