We’re delighted to announce two new investments, following our participation in the Endowments Investing Challenge earlier this year.
We’re investing £2.3 million with Triodos Investment Management’s Future Generation Fund, and £2.7 million with EdenTree, one of the other four shortlisted investment managers.
The Endowments Investing Challenge set out to rethink how investment decisions are made – putting transparency, collaboration and the voices of young people at the heart of the process. It also sought to help shape the future of responsible investing in the UK with a challenge to investment managers to prioritise long-term positive impacts on future generations, alongside financial returns.
The response was hugely encouraging. From 60 applications, five investment service providers were shortlisted to present their approaches live, with Triodos Investment Management’s Future Generations Fund ultimately selected as the People’s Choice Winner.
As Hadewych Kuiper, Managing Director, Investments at Triodos Investment Management, said:
“Winning the Endowments Investing Challenge for our Future Generations strategy is an incredibly proud moment for all of us at Triodos Investment Management. This award reaffirms our commitment to putting the well-being of future generations at the core of every investment decision…”
Jenny Couper, Director of Finance and Resources at Cripplegate Foundation said:
“The Endowment Investing Challenge was an opportunity to push the investment industry to do better. We recognise the growing opportunity to mobilise more of our endowment to contribute to positive social and environmental outcomes, alongside generating financial returns for our grant giving. Our new investments with Triodos and Edentree are a core part of this intention.”
We’re proud to be part of a movement challenging conventional approaches to investment, and excited to see what these investments can achieve for people and the planet, today and for future generations.
