Revd Katharine Rumens is the Rector of St. Giles Without Cripplegate and has been an Ex-Officio member of the Foundation’s Board since 2000.
She came to ordination via a background in the arts and working as a fashion designer. She served her curacy in East Ham where she was involved in school and community projects. She then was on the staff of St John’s Waterloo where she combined parish responsibilities with being a chaplain in the arts and media. The parish of St Giles’ with St Luke’s Old Street includes the northern area of the City of London and part of south Islington, comprising the Barbican, Golden Lane and Peabody Estates plus other social and private housing, and offices. The Rector is ex-officio of several historic charities, a school governor, a livery company chaplain and chaplain to the Barbican Arts Centre among other responsibilities. St Giles’ is an active parish church currently supporting musicians as a venue for rehearsals and recordings during Covid.
