Manny Wiafe joined the Board of Governors in October 2020. He is a member of the Foundation’s Finance and General Purposes Committee as well as the Islington Council Community Chest Panel.
He was born and raised in Islington and continues to live in the borough. He is a solicitor with the international law firm Trowers and Hamlins, and brings in-depth strategy, planning and financial management skills. Growing up in Islington, Manny has participated in local projects including Access to Sports, St Mary’s Neighbourhood Centre and Copenhagen Youth Project. He has a deep connection with the area, local organisations and residents and as such was impressed by the place-based initiatives developed by Cripplegate Foundation, as well as the quality of the organisations it chooses to fund. Manny is motivated to help create consensus on ways to improve social justice for the communities served by the Foundation. This will be Manny’s first trustee or governor’s role.
