Crisis and Resilience Fund

Our vision for Islington is of an equal borough where everyone can enjoy a life free from poverty and access the many opportunities on offer in their local area.

Crisis and Resilience Fund

If you are struggling to afford everyday essentials, you may be able to get help from the Crisis and Resilience Fund. It is for Islington residents who are facing a financial emergency.

With the cost of living still high, even a small financial shock can tip things into crisis. A new £4.1m Crisis and Resilience Fund (formerly Residents  Support Scheme) is here to help Islington residents with essentials like food, energy and household costs when they need it most.

As well as emergency support, the fund also helps people get back on track for the long term — making sure you’re claiming the benefits you’re entitled to, cutting bills, and accessing advice on debt, work and budgeting.

Support is available all year round and easier to access through Access Islington and trusted local partners, with a “no wrong door” approach to getting help.

What is the Crisis and Resilience Fund?

The Crisis and Resilience Fund is funded by the UK Government, the council and partners. It brings together different support and funding schemes, including the Resident Support Scheme, into one fund, with one application form, so it is easier to apply for help.

What is the fund for?

The fund helps Islington residents who are in serious financial difficulty and cannot afford basic living costs.

It can:

  • help you in an emergency
  • give short-term support
  • put you in touch with other services that can help you longer-term
Who is the fund for?

You can apply if:
