Our Governors

Our vision for Islington is of an equal borough where everyone can enjoy a life free from poverty and access the many opportunities on offer in their local area.

Our Governors

The Foundation’s trustee company has a board of Governors. Two Governors are appointed by the City of London Corporation and two by the London Borough of Islington. All other Governors are appointed by the trustee company’s Board and serve for five years after which period they may put themselves forward for reappointment.

For non-appointed vacancies, recruitment is undertaken by open advertisement and interview. We will advertise vacancies via our website, newsletter, social media, and via local community networks.

We recognise the value and importance of a diverse Board, and seek to recruit new board members who bring a wide range of skills, experience and backgrounds, with a priority given to applicants who are residents of the London Borough of Islington or Cripplegate ward.

Diversity data survey results

In September 2025, we conducted an anonymous diversity survey across both our staff team and our Board of Governors. We received responses from 14 out of 16 board members and 14 out of 16 staff members. The findings for each group are outlined in our full report.
