Jop Bekink

Our vision for Islington is of an equal borough where everyone can enjoy a life free from poverty and access the many opportunities on offer in their local area.

Jop Bekink

Jop joined the Board of Governors in January 2023 as an Advisor, and now serves as Vice-Chair of the Foundation, and Co-optative Member on the Finance & General Purposes Committee and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. Jop is also Chair of Islington Residents Support Scheme Steering Group and Co-Chair of the Governance & Remuneration Committee.

Jop works for JP Morgan Chase and has practiced as a tax professional for over 20 years in the UK, the Netherlands and the UAE. He speaks Dutch and English, has lived in Islington for several years and sees the work of Cripplegate as an effective conduit for being involved in the area as he has been keenly aware of the wide disparities that exist in the borough and is very eager to help.

“I would hope to contribute any insights I may have gained as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and nephew of someone living with severe mental health and learning disability issues.”
